SITE PLANNER Site Planner Today's Mounting Solutions Offer Flexibility, Scalability and Concealment Options More and more applications are utilizing wireless technology, and the applications require increased bandwidth. The demand for wireless coverage and capacity is expanding - from cellular and Wi-Fi to private networks - which is driving the need for additional base station sites. Unfortunately, the place where additional coverage is needed most may not be conducive to a new tower site. Rooftops are often the most convenient and available option for new or expanding communications sites, especially in densely-populated areas. Developing a rooftop site can involve many considerations such as weight and height limits, grounding and weatherproofing, and mounting needs and requirements. Today's mounting options allow you to address three major factors when determining what you need. Flexibility Each roof is unique. Roof layout, zoning requirements, prevailing weather conditions and other details may not be the same in every location requiring a site. Your mounting solution may need to change from roof to roof. With universal, modular mount options, you can configure the solution that fits each site. You may also avoid spending too much on an overly robust or complex option. Scalability With no limit on our desire for wireless in sight, it is likely that you may need to reconfigure your rooftop sites in the future to add capacity and improve coverage. Universal mounting solutions allow you to change your configuration as your network changes without starting from scratch each time. Concealment Visible antennas or obvious communication sites on a rooftop may not always be desirable. Concealment may become an even larger issue at other sites in an urban environment such as light poles, kiosks and utility poles. Mounting solutions are available to conceal and disguise your wireless equipment. In addition to addressing aesthetics, these solutions can add environmental protection and security to rooftop, building and pole-mounted sites. FEATURED MANUFACTURERS
